What if it happened to you...

  • A 14 year old was raped and killed by four young men...
  •  In Konark, four men were charged with dragging a woman out of a bus and gang raping her.
  • A man was arrested for his involvement in the alleged gangrape of a 22-year-old woman in a posh south Kolkata area, police said on Saturday.
  • Kanda charged for abetting Geetika Sharma's suicide on the August 5 .
  • A man found guilty of raping and murdering his ex-girlfriend before setting her and her house on fire.

Being a woman, I personally feel this city and even country is not safe for us.I fail to understand what government is doing to curb all these case? There is no site of implementation of law, it is really frustrating.
Over 32000 murders, 19,000 rapes, 7500 dowry deaths and 36500 molestation cases are the violent crimes reported in India in 2011 against women. There are many instances of crime especially against women go unreported in India. Latest statics released by National Commission for women proved that India is unsafe  for women and Uttar Pradesh emerged as the most insecure state followed by Delhi!!
Pallavi Purkayastha , did she ever know that the night will bring her death...I ask you, are we even safe in our homes? No!!! we are not! A guard who is appointed for the safety is himself , a danger for the society!
Just because he was obsessed with her, he will kill her??
A gang rape happened in gurgaon by a girl's own good friend whom she used to trust, just for the sake of enjoyment!
Look when we are not safe with known people, how can we dare to think to be safe with unknown ones...
Are we not allowed to wear skirts and walk on roads..India is a democratic country, we need to change the laws not the dresses of girls!
I would like to ask the people sitting out there to judge things according to girls dressing, are the girls in sarees or salwar kameez not raped? Is it so? Or the women in other parts of world who dress in western clothes being raped every second? We need to change our thoughts not the dressing of a woman! I heard a guy saying in an interview that "what should i do,if i see a girl in hot pants walking on the road at mid-night?" This is so disgusting!
After being raped, the life is like a trauma for a girl. Can you just even imagine, these are like the worst nightmares, the way society behaves, the way victim has to prove everyday that "YES I was raped" to get justice .Do all of them get justice?Even taking an action or registering a case is difficult for girls! In some cases they are more dangerous and can lead to more exploitation if  victim is unprotected.

Why it’s so? Is it not the part of media duty to see till it is through? 95 % cases are either not reported and if reported they are not registered by our protectors, so called policemen. The poor in some cases are not even allowed to enter the police station premises. Justice is far apart.
Even though a registered case dies its own death for the lack of poor evidence, political and money pressure, evidences are created and destroyed as per the whims and fancy of the police and the political parties.
The witnesses also change their colors every now and then, leading to the release of rapists.
     What a pity!

"Its little wonder that rape is one of the least reported crimes.Perhaps it is only crime in which the victim becomes the accused and in reality, it is she who most prove her good reputation, her mental soundness and her impeccable propriety "

We need to and have to change the system, the laws, for protecting our sisters, daughters ,mothers and wives, so that they can walk safely on the streets!!!
